During the massive heatwave that swept through Washington during the last week of June our team at Lemay got to partner with Twinstar Credit Union’s community engagement team to put on a FREE community mobile shred event! 4th Dimension Computers also partnered, proving free electronics shredding.
Director of Community Engagement at Twinstar Corinn Wohl said, “Hello all! Thank you so much for supporting the Shred Event on Saturday! I am happy to report nobody melted!”
Mobile Shred Event: Shredding for a Cause
Besides providing free shredding to the community, there was another reason for this event. Dry Tikes & Wet Wipes also partnered with the event, with Lance Benson as their representative.
Dry Tikes & Wet Wipes diaper bank is a non profit 501 (c) (3) organization based in Olympia, Washington. Unlike other direct-service providers in Thurston County that provide diapers on a monthly basis, this organization provides families dapper access five days a week, five hours a day. Benson started Dry Tikes & Wet Wipes in 2014 from a closet, and it’s been growing ever since. In 2019, the organization was able to donate over 64,000 diapers to families in need.
Community members who came to participate in the shredding fun were also encouraged to make donations to the diaper bank of Thurston County to help low-income parents get the supplies they need for their families.
Lemay Mobile Shredding was happy to be a part of such a fun event for such a great cause! A huge thank you to everyone involved and everyone who donated to the diaper bank!
